Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

ADOPTION PENDING!!!!

Looking for a treat? How about a little Popcorn?  I'm a cute little kernel who came to LSBR from a bad situation.  I am roughly 6 months old, healthy, neutered and ready for my forever home.

I haven't had any accidents in my crate or in the house. I've already caught on to going to the back door when I need to potty.  I does sleep through the night (8-9 hours) without an accident. I get along great with all of the dogs in my foster home and hold my own with the roughest of playmates!  I know what your thinking.....I must be very rambunctious!  Well I'm not according to my foster mom.....in fact she says that I'm learning my manners and I already know how to sit for a greeting!

I have to admit that I'm not yet a fan of my crate so I bark in protest when I'm put there; however, the noise doesn't bother me because I can't hear it......I'm deaf!  My foster mom is working with me on my crate training and says that I'm barking less and less now that I'm learning the routine.  When left to roam the house or play with the big dogs, I never makes a sound. Sleeping is another story....my foster mom reports that I snore like a freight train while sleeping!

Because I'm deaf, my foster mom thinks I would do best in a home with another dog to cue from or a very dedicated guardian to help me learn hand signals.
