Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Big baby.....that's what the volunteers at BARC called me! I suppose that's not what you'd imagine when you see me. I'm a big boy.....a boxer/mastiff mix but I'm only about 1 year old!

I'm definitely a gentle giant who has already overcome a lot! I'm now in a foster home, getting the treatment I need for my skin....as you can tell, I have already improved tremendously! What's wonderful is that I'm learning what it's like to be part of a family......learning basic commands, learning to socialize with other dogs.....which I love by the way! My foster mom has enrolled me in some obedience classes and I've already learned 'sit' 'wait' and 'off'. I'm already crate trained and I really like my crate! I am just a big ole love bug!

My life thus far has been a struggle and I'm hoping now that I'm in the hands of LSBR, I'll have the kind of life I deserve! If you are looking for a constant companion with a heart of gold and big 'ole hunk......look no further!
