Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

WOOHOO! I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

Hey my name is Hershey!  And I have been told I am just like my name...light & dark chocolate colored and super sweet!  Have I mentioned that I LOVE to cuddle?  It's one of my favorite things. I am a very lively and active guy so I would do great in a very active home.....one with other dogs or someone that needs a running buddy.  But once I am tired I really just want to cuddle up with someone. At night, I curl up with my foster mom while she watches TV....I'm in heaven!  I love to follow my humans around and be right next to them so don't close any doors behind you! I want to see what you are up to and if I can help with anything!  My foster mom says I've the brains and obedience of a pointer and the loving affection and goofiness of a boxer....the best of both worlds!  I am now fully house broken and crate trained.  I have learned so many commands like NO, SIT, COME, OFF, OUT, STAY, FETCH, WAIT and more.

I LOVE squeaky toys, balls, ropes to play tug of war with, Frisbees & sticks!  I enjoy playing fetch & I have found that I can jump up REALLY high!!  I also LOVE the water! I have recently been introduced to peanut butter and have to admit, that is one great treat! After all, peanut butter and chocolate go great together!

Won't you consider making me part of your family?
