Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Do you like Disney movies? If so, you'll appreciate my story.

My name is Holly and I had given birth to a litter of beautiful, furry puppies.  When I was rescued, I was found wandering around a busy strip center parking lot, nose to the ground looking for food and unaware of the cars dodging me. Hunger gnawed at my gut as I searched for food with my milk bags swinging painfully to and fro.  I had puppies to feed and it was cold outside.

If I had not been rescued, I would not have survived.  The family took me back to search for my puppies but to no avail.  I couldn't tell them what happened. If only I could speak human....I know they felt bad for me.  I cried as my milk dried up and I tried to escape when I went out to potty to go look for my babies.

That's the tragic part of my story. The happy part is that I am now living inside a wonderful foster home with other dogs receiving good food and lots of love.  I am so good that my foster mom doesn't have to crate me since I potty trained quickly and I am great with other dogs.  I hate to brag, but I'm super smart too.

I really enjoy hanging out with the little girl. Wherever she goes, I follow and sit next to her.  I'm a quiet, gentle girl and I am beginning to remember how to play. I like to pick up a toy and carry it around.  I also like to play with the other dogs and ride in the car.

Now that I am safe, my only Christmas wish is to be adopted by a family that will love me forever and let me love them in return.
