Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

Lucy is a petite 2-to-3-year-old boxer who was found as a stray in an abandoned building. When she was rescued from the city shelter she weighed only 35 pounds. With the help of a loving foster family, she now weighs in at 42 pounds and is continuing to gain weight. In spite of living a tough life, this sweetie is very affectionate and loves human attention. She is progressing well on her house training, likes her crate and has learned some basic obedience commands. Lucy's behavior around other dogs has not been assessed, but she is not good with cats. Lucy is heartworm positive and will begin her treatment soon. Please consider giving Lucy a chance to become a cherished member of a loving home.
