Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

My name is Jagger, and the day before Christmas Eve, my former owner dumped me off in front of a shelter. I was so scared. But on Christmas Eve, I got to move into my wonderful foster home. I had injured my leg a while back, and a brace was put on my leg. They left the brace on too long, and my leg became infected. The brace is off now, and I'm on antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Obviously I have a high tolerance for pain, but I'm so glad they took that off. Other than having one leg that is a bit shorter than the others, I move around quite well! (OK, not as well as my namesake Mick, but I'm working on my own moves!) I'm just about a year old, and I'm just an overall good-natured guy. I not only like other dogs, but I also don't mind being around cats. I'm crate trained, and my foster family will find out soon how well house trained I am. I know I look a little pitiful in these pictures, but I'm filling out and will be back to my handsome self soon. Please make 2007 my best year ever by giving me my own forever home.
