Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hello Dahlings....my name is Poppit. I am a very playful girl who is learning new things everyday. You see, I had a rough start to life and since LSBR found me, my life has dramatically changed for the better. I sometimes still feel insecure and scared but I get over it pretty quickly with love and affection. My favorite past time activity is annoying my foster brother and sister. Pssst don't tell but they are so easy to annoy. I haven't found anyone I don't like so far so it is safe to say I will get along with most everyone and everything. I can come on really strong and if I am adopted into a family with a brother or sister they will need to be very even tempered so they can help me learn to not be so rough when I play.

I am such a quick learner. I can "sit", "down", "leave it" and walk pretty well on a leash for such a lil one. I am mostly housetrained except when my foster mom doesn't move fast enough to let me out. I love my crate but prefer going in for a treat. Speaking of treats, I will do most anything for one of those. I love to nap and if it's on your lap even better. I don't mean to brag, but....

My foster mom says I should be named Pandora since everyday is like opening a new box and finding a surprise. She calls me Poppy and says Poppit is a bit formal for my little self. I don't know why she says that, I am a big girl. But I digress. I am so ready to be with my forever family. Is that you? Call me.
