My name is Kodiak and I am looking for a loving, forever home. My former family abandoned me at animal control when they moved. I felt like an old couch that was no longer useful. I thought they loved me. I was so scared and confused. I was always a good boy, showing my family love and loyalty.
Thankfully, I am safe now in a loving foster home. I believe that all things are for a reason and that my true forever family will come along soon. Looking back, I guess my family didn't love me that much anyway. They kept me tied up outside in the heat and cold. I have a mark on my neck where the rope rubbed deeply into my skin.
When I was left at the shelter, my former family said I was 8 years old. So far, everyone that has met me in rescue, including the vet, disagrees. They think I'm much younger. I think I am too.
I am a petite boy with natural ears and a cute, docked tail. I love children and I love to play with toys and wrestle with my my foster mom's boxers. I also enjoying curling up next to my human.
I already know "sit" and "shake" but I want to learn more. One of the volunteers showed me how to "twist" for a treat and I learned it within a few tries.
If you are looking for a fun, smart, wise, loving dog to become a member of your family, I'm the guy for you. Call me. I'll be waiting for you."
