Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer. Learn more about the Bulldog.

My name is Mud Flaps, and I know that sounds a little goofy, but, you know what? So am I! And I really don’t care what my name is, because I am just so happy to have been rescued from a shelter and nursed back to health by a really nice and generous family. I’m a brindle and white bulldog/boxer mix – just a big silly puppy with big paws! I’m full of energy and so playful – sometimes I don’t know my own strength, so even though I love kids, I might just be too strong for the really young ones.

Not to channel Julie Andrews, but these are a few of my favorite things: peanut butter cookies, pig’s ears, playing fetch, going for walks, hugs, snuggling, riding in the car, getting my back scratched (especially right at my tail), hiding things around the house – and coffee! So what do I not like? Easy! Baths! Yuck! I’m house and crate trained, although I do sigh just a little before I walk into my crate – but then I’m OK. So, I know you are going to fall in love with me – and if you take me home you can call me anything you want!
