Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Look at Nick! Isn’t he a gorgeous hunk of a neutered dog? He’s well on his way to becoming the most beautiful Rottie Mix. Profile: Neutered, heartworm negative, on Heartguard, all shots including kennel cough, dewormed-stool, checked – no parasites. He loves to play and run in the yard. Nick’s had a playdate with my friend’s rottie and dobie children – no problem. He does not bark. He would like lots of attention. Nick loves rawhide bones. He walks on a leash, but needs some instructions. He sits when asked. Hey, what more could you ask for??? His story: I walked by the kennels, and Nick put his tongue out and licked me. I stopped. Here was a skeleton with a head. This poor dog couldn’t even stand up in the kennel. Nick had no food. I called the tech over and he gave Nick some food. I left animal control but couldn’t sleep that night. Then, I started calling about this dog. I couldn’t get him out of my mind and heart. Luckily, I got him out in the knick of time. His 3 days were up and the killing spree in his ward had begun. He was two kennels away from being killed. Now Nick needs a forever home. Those of you who know me, know we have more than a houseful of animal children. I would have dozens if I could. Nick deserves a loving forever home as he will always be for me an example of the potential of every dog that walks or is dragged into an animal control facility. In Houston, over 90% of these beautiful animals are killed. Please call me if you are interested, or want to discuss Nick. >
