Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

Melina is a 2-to-3-year-old female who was rescued from the woods off of Memorial Drive, where she'd been spotted by commuters for weeks. Apparently, each day during rush hour, Melina would sit by the side of the road and watch the traffic whiz by -- dangerously close to her. Melina seems to have a very sweet disposition, but her personality is still being evaluated by volunteers. She will do best as an only dog or with a submissive male. Melina is house trained, and knows basic obedience commands. She is heart worm positive, has completed the first half of her Heartworm treatment and is currently undergoing the second half. We are looking for a very special, permanent home for this sweetheart. @ The Fritz.
