Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.
I'm Hutch, and I was rescued with my shepherd pal, Starsky. I'm a three-year-old boxer mix with just a touch of Great Dane in my blood. I’m big and beautiful, and I have a big and beautiful heart to match. I'm super friendly, and I’m pretty well-behaved around kids. I just have to remember that lots of them are smaller than I am. I’m house and crate trained, and I don’t dig or jump! I like walks a lot, although I know I need just a little leash training. But I’m smart, and once you show me what to do, I pick up commands pretty easily. I have a very mild case of heartworms, but I’m on heartworm preventative right now and will be retested in six months to see how I’m doing. My overworked foster mom thinks I'm a real love, so I try to be on my best behavior at all times! I promise I'll make such a great companion, especially if you like big and beautiful dogs. Won't you please find a place for me in your family?
