Pedro is a happy and healthy brindle male that turned a year old in March. In his previous home, his companions were another Boxer, a five-month-old baby and a five-year-old boy who loved him and played with him all the time. His owner is now a single mom and unfortunately can no longer take care of him. Pedro has a playful, happy disposition and is even bilingual: he recognizes his commands in both Spanish and English. If you want a kiss, just say "Besos!" He's protective, but not fierce. He responds to praise and kind commands, but gruff commands make him think he's in trouble, even when he's not. Pedro prefers lots of activity, coming from a family that was very active, and he loves being right in the middle of it all. He's quite the gentleman, however, and doesn't jump on furniture. He is crate trained, but he is not used to spending a lot of time in a crate during the day. Pedro loves other dogs and has lived fairly successfully with cats (one liked him, one didn't). He is usually submissive with other animals (not an Alpha dog at all). If he could talk, he would tell you he's a lover, not a fighter. Pedro is faithful, affectionate, and energetic, and he would do best with a family who has those same qualities.
